The Brief: To develop an illustrated visual language based on a given colour and its emotional intent — one that could be extended across editorial and print formats while remaining cohesive and recognisable.
Process:
Exploring soil textures and material surfaces to understand tactility and depth. Early pattern studies translating earth’s physical qualities into repeatable forms. Abstraction of natural marks into a structured illustration system.

The Visual Language:
The final system interprets the colour through layered textures, organic forms, and restrained tonal variations. Together, these elements create a grounded, tactile language that can scale across formats without losing emotional coherence.
Simplified shapes inspired by seeds, stones, and cocoons combine with rhythmic patterns reminiscent of ritual and touch. This concept highlights human–earth connection, repetition as meditation, and form as grounding.Through these abstractions, the colour evolves into a visual language of belonging, memory, and origin.
Application: The visual language was applied across multiple editorial formats and the event hanger demonstrating its flexibility and consistency.
